Rita F. Schrock , 84, formerly of Kimmell and South Bend, died peacefully in the company of family at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Grace Village, Winona Lake.

Born on July 6, 1941, in Elkhart, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Henrietta (Sroka) Schrock. Growing up in Elkhart, she graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959.

For over ten years, she worked for Goshen Rubber in Goshen and completed her work career with Meijer in South Bend.

She liked to travel to area events, attending the Holland, Michigan tulip festival, and visiting friends and relatives.  In her retirement, she enjoyed watching game shows and crime shows on television.  After moving to Grace Village, she was a regular at the weekly BINGO game, always sporting her red lipstick and red nail polish.  She savored fruit pies and sweets.

Rita is survived by a sister, Eunice McNeil of Kimmel; nieces, Barbara Radabaugh of Colorado Springs, CO, Beverly McConn of South Bend, and Elaine Jusko of Cincinnati; nephews, Michael McNeil of Acton, CA, Richard (Michelle) McNeil of Kimmell, and Vincent and Ricky Jusko of Cincinnati.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by a sister, Madonna Jusko.

The funeral service is 3 p.m. Tuesday (July 7th) at Smith & Son's Funeral Home in Columbia City.  Burial is at the Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.  Visitation is from 2 p.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
