Robert L. "Bob" Alexander, 93, of Columbia City, died peacefully at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Parkview Randallia, Fort Wayne.

Born on December 12, 1929, in Whitley County, Indiana, he was a son of the late Harry C. and Beulah B. (Juillerat) Alexander. Growing up in Washington Twp., Whitley County, he completed his schooling at Washington Center School.

A professional truck driver, he drove for Orr Trucking Company and was a member of Teamsters 414, Fort Wayne.

At home, he enjoyed turning wood pieces on his lathe. He used his skill to make intricate wood hearts, crosses, and turtles. He liked to collect, repair, and sell antique furniture. He always enjoyed the opportunity to fish with his family.  In most recent years, he found pleasure in pencil sketching.

Surviving are his sons, Gary (Linda) Alexander of Warren and Michael (Rochelle) Alexander of Hicksville, OH; stepchildren, Lana (Donald) Blankenship of Rolla, MO, Joseph (Carol) Harris of Springfield, MO, Vickie Nault of Melbourne, FL, and Robin (Brian) Pfeiffer of Berne; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

The last of five children, he was preceded in death by siblings, Harold "Buss," Dwight, and Ronald "Moe" Alexander, and Betty Marrs.  He lost his wife Nancy C. Alexander in 2019.

Bob desired to have no services. He will be inurned in Rolla, Missouri. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
