Ross A. Furnas, 62, of Larwill, died at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home.

He was born August 28, 1958, in Three Rivers, MI, a son of the late Lawrence Ernest and Helen Marie (Adams) Furnas. Raised in rural Columbia City, he attended Thorncreek School and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1976.

He worked for Essex Wire, Columbia City, for about 20 years until their closure. He then went to work for Biomet, Warsaw as a machine operator.

An outdoor enthusiast, he purchased wooded acreage, which became his sanctuary. He enjoyed just walking his property, observing nature. He liked to fish and often spent time with his friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Dianna Shafter of LaOtto, and Valerie Menzie of Columbia City; a brother, Steven Furnas of McCordsville.

Per Ross's wishes there will be no service.

Preferred memorials in Ross's honor are to the Indiana DNR, Humane Society of Whitley County or COPD Foundation.
