Sandra L. Smith, 79 , of Columbia City died at Parkview Regional Medical Center October 13, 2021 at 10:25 p.m.

She was born in Bloomingdale, Indiana and grew up in Columbia City, graduating from Columbia City Joint High School. She worked at Millers Merry Manor in Columbia City as a QMA and rehabilitation aide. Even after retirement she still focused on caregiving.  She was the one who took care of all.

She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers.  She also liked baking cookies and cakes.

Her furry friends Pebbles and Robin were well loved.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Catherine "Cate" Smith of Pierceton; brothers, Richard Snodgrass of Columbia City and John Snodgrass of Columbia City, and a sister, Loretta Snodgrass of Columbia City.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen R. Snodgrass and Ronald E. Snodgrass.

Memorials in Sandra's honor are to the Humane Society of Whitley County or the American Cancer Society.

In keeping with the wishes of Sandra, there will be no funeral service.
