Sharon Kay Giordano , 81, of South Whitley died peacefully in the company of family at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at her home.

Born on March 25, 1942, in Muncie, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy P (Campbell) Croussore.  Growing up at Fish Lake she attended Kingsbury High School.  Later she earned a GED.

For the past forty years she has lived in South Whitley with her companion Robin A. Rucker.

She had worked for Weatherhead in Columbia City and for a few years at Ramada Inn.

At home she enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetable.  She canned her produce for use throughout the year and used it to cook delicious meals.  She delighted in the annual mushroom hunts and berry harvest.  She liked to fish and through the years hosted the family fish fries and parties with friends.

Surviving is her companion for 40 years, Robin and his daughter Season (Jeff) Rose of Pierceton; a son Bryan L. Giordano of South Whitley; grandchildren, Nicolas (Lexie) Rose and Livia Rose; great grandchildren, Makyann Giordano, Ehlias Giordano, and Ellah Rose; sisters, Dixie Renfore, Cindy Gaff, and Trina Fetchik all of South Whitley; a brother, Tom (Kathy) Wheeler of Pierceton and a sister-in-law, Brenda Croussore.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Giordano; a granddaughter, Ashley Giordano;. a brother Kenny Croussore and a nephew, Craig Salzman.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 15, 2023 at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.  Sharon will be interred at the South Whitley Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 p.m.
