Stephen Ray Lawrence, 59, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his home in Fort Wayne.

He was born January 2, 1962, in West Suffolk, England, a son of the late Charles Edwin Lawrence and Joan (Betterton) Lawrence.  Moving to the United States and becoming a citizen as a child he grew up in Gas City and graduated from Eastbrook High School, Marion in 1980.  He then attended Indiana State University.

He became a career-long tool and die maker.

He is survived by four sons, Landon (Chelsie) Lawrence of Columbia City, Nathan Lawrence of Fort Wayne, Sheldon Lawrence of Warsaw and Sawyer McCreary of Elkhart; grandchildren, Kinley & Aubree Lawrence; and brothers, Charles R. Lawrence of Elwood and Michael (Carol) Lawrence of Gas City.

There will be no services.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
