Ted Eugene Goble, 69, of rural Columbia City, died at his home on Monday, April 4, 2021.

He was born September 1, 1951, at the Whitley County Memorial Hospital, Columbia City, IN, a son of the late Raymond Perry Goble and Mary Mildred Henrietta (Smith) Goble. He completed elementary school at Washington Center School and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1969.

For over 30 years, he worked for United Technologies in Andrews. After the plant closure, he went to work for Dana Fluid Systems in Columbia City, retiring in 2005 with ten years of service.

He enjoyed caring for his home and property. In season, he liked to hunt and trap. Through the years, he collected and tinkered with cars, especially his Mustang.

He is survived by a sister, Lucille Ann (Scott) Klein of Huntington, and several nieces and nephews.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond P. Goble, Jr., and half-brother, Rex Hatfield, and a half-sister, Donna Erne.

The funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the Nolt Cemetery. Visitation is 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
