Thomas Charles
Zumbrun
Jul 28, 1990 — Oct 9, 2024
Thomas Charles Zumbrun , 34, of rural Whitley County passed away on October 9, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a battle with cancer.
Tom was born on July 28, 1990, to David and Lana (Hively) Zumbrun. He graduated from Churubusco High School and Purdue University. Tom was the fifth generation to work his family's farm in Whitley County. He was proud of and honored that legacy. He restored the south pasture to its condition when his grandfather farmed, and his cow-calf herd grazing on that pasture was his pride and joy. He was passionate about continuing the no-tillage practices introduced to the family farm by his father.
Tom was a good friend and neighbor to everyone. He could always be counted on to help with any job, no matter how hard or dirty. His constant good nature, even during his illness, brightened the world for everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife, Hillary (Martin) Zumbrun; daughter, Cora Zumbrun; mother, Lana Zumbrun; grandmother, Cora Dean (Schrader) Hively; mother and father-in-law, Donna and Bill Martin; brother, Joe Zumbrun and his partner, Skyler Barrett; brothers-in-law, Thomas, Austin, and Kevin Martin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Zumbrun.
