Victoria Phillips, 76, of Columbia City, died peacefully in the company of family at her home at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Born in Knott County, Kentucky on September 13, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Beatrice (Watkins) Hogston.  She grew up in Hindman, Kentucky.

On December 3, 1969, she was united in marriage to Wieman Phillips.  After their marriage, they moved to Columbia City.  Wieman died on October 2, 2014.

Victoria had worked as a nurses' aide for several years until becoming disabled.

A devout Christian, she loved the Lord and regularly read the Bible.  With a kind heart, her door was always open to her family and friends and especially the grandkids.  She leaves behind her beloved pug mix dog – Gracie.  She liked to work crossword puzzles and was a big fan of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

Surviving are her children, Shaun (Kelly) Phillips of Huntertown and Taryn (Jeff) Bisel of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert (Mary Anne) Hogston, Monroe Hogston both of Detroit, Jimmy Hogston of Winchester, KY and Paul Hogston of Jackson, KY; and a sister, Georgia (Bill) Hayes of Jackson, KY.

Victoria's desire was to have no services and have her cremains returned to her Kentucky home.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
