Obituary

Virgil Rowe Sr., 68, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away at home on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his children.

He was born on September 15, 1957 in Marshall, Michigan to William (Doc) and Mae (Bailey) Rowe.  He grew up in Marshall and Vicksburg, Michigan.  He attended Vicksburg High School and started work at Essex Wire right after High School, where he continued to work for 32 years.

He enjoyed time with family and loved fishing, hunting, and looking for mushrooms. He was an excellent marksman.  He loved being outdoors. He knew how to repair and restore classic cars that he owned over the years.  He loved going to car shows.  He also enjoyed a glass of Windsor and telling jokes. He always had a dog at his side through his life. He enjoyed reading the bible and talking to others about history.

He is survived by his children, Virgil Rowe Jr., Crystal (Lance) Stanley, Michael (Andrea) Rowe; step-children, Steven Waid Jr., Julie Johnston, Jimmy Waid, Trevor Mastropietro and Jordyn Mastropietro; grandchildren, Zane (Ashlynn) Mullins, Hayden Kaminski, Ava Rowe, Marshall Rowe; and great grandchildren, Ainsley Mullins, Crue Mullins and Maximus Mullins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Verlon Rowe, Varon Rowe; sisters, Verna Lee Rowe; wife, Teresa Rowe and his favorite dog "Rex".

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday July 11, 2026 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
